Next Year I'll Just Send a Card
My best friend loves coffee. Her entire family is also obsessed with all things Colorado. So for her birthday this year, I decided to order her some of Bello Montana's Blue Moose Mystical Blend coffee. (Coffee, moose, PERFECT!) I didn't tell her it was coming. I wanted it to be a surprise. Unfortunately, her husband is extremely paranoid and this is where the trouble began.
Apparently my friend opened the door to a box sitting on her porch addressed to her. She hadn't ordered anything so she called her husband who became immediately suspicious. "Who is it addressed to? Who is it from?"
My friend related the information to him and he told her in no uncertain terms that she should NOT open that box. He had not ordered anything from anyone called "Bello Montana" and neither had she and it was probably a bomb and she should call the police immediately, have them bring out the bomb squad and get their daughter out of the house. My friend fortunately was not prone to hysterics and told him that it said "coffee" on the logo and it was probably fine.
He told her again that she should not open that box. He said that if it was not a bomb the police should be called in anyway because whatever was in the box (be it coffee or not) would need to be examined for possible anthrax poisoning.
After assuring her husband that she would do just that and hanging up the phone, curiosity won out and my friend opened the box to find -- coffee. She then called me to get my opinion on the situation and I almost died laughing.
I ran over to her place and we sampled the new coffee blend (which we found delightful!). When her husband got home a bit later we entertained him with "dying" scenes and jokes at his expense. He'll never live it down.

Weekend Coffee
Don't you just love the weekends? I know I do. Even my coffee tastes better on the weekends! I was finally finishing unpacking from moving (2 years later one box left!).
And I found a coffee mug I used to use in my old gig as a systems admin for huge LAN/WAN computer network. Along with keeping that baby running smooooothly, I had to help people who had problems and it made me remember this one really funny incident.
This brand new branch manager who happened to be a the daughter of someone with a lotta stroke in the company called me screaming she couldn't log into her network and she had a payroll to process.
I calmed her down and had her tell me what the problem was, well the network wouldn't connect. I had her check her cables, all connected and good, then I had her attempt to log into her network, nothing happening she told me.
I went through all the other usual trouble shooting methods and she's just getting more and more frustrated with lots of heavy over exaggerated sighs and so after 20 minutes of going through everything I could think of and the answer every time was "Nothing is happening" and she wouldn't elaborate any further when I pressed her details. All I got was a loud, long sigh.
I said "Well I'll be right out there, I have one stop to make on my way there and then I'll be right out to troubleshoot your network".
She gave one of her over-exaggerated :::::::;sighs:::::::::: and said Okay but call me on my cell phone BECAUSE ALL OF OUR POWER IS OUT!
:::::::insert the sounds of screeching brakes here:::::::::
I explained that computers and networks need silly things like electricity to run and that pretty much fixed her problem.
I'm so happy I'm a full-time artist now.....I don't miss Tech Support one bit! But I'm happy I found my old favorite coffee mug! Off to fill that baby up with some Espresso!

No, I am not learning to count.... Think about it. At 01:02 and 03 seconds on April 5th, 2006... it will be 01:02:03 04-05-06.....
Stay up and drink your coffee and photograph your digital clock and save that one for future generations to see as it won't happen again for a long time.

April Fool Coffee Part II
Well, it was midnight but I finally got him back for ruining my coffee experience. He was watching me like a hawk all day and into the evening knowing full well I was considering retribution.
Finally his defenses were down around midnight and I got him!
He doesn't love black coffee like I do and he was not letting me bring him ANYTHING from the kitchen, so I poured out all but about a cup of his coffee creamer that was in the fridge and I poured about a cup of salt and some white pepper into the bottle of coffee creamer (we jokingly call it coffee fluff), and when he got up to go get some coffee and fluff as we say, I sat back and waited for the cursing to start.......
I was silent as a church mouse waiting.....didn't have to wait long.
"!@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I shouted out , "Ah-ha! We're even!"
He shouted back, "Ah-ha! Wait til next year!"
I'm scared......

april fool coffee
I had the nastiest tasting April Fool's joke ever played on me...my mouth still tastes icky..... I got up this morning and my partner yelled down, "Honnnnnneeeeeeyyyy, do ya want some coffee?"
Well, heck yeah I did!
So he brought down some freshly made muffins (yum!) and a steaming cuppa black coffee and I took a big sip and nearly passed it through my nose I was so surprised it wasn't my Bello Montana. He of course, was giggling like a maniac at me - he got me.
It was a big steaming cup of FAKE COFFEE made with herbs and soybeans - oh man it was hideous. If you went out to your local mulch pile and scooped up a big handful and put it in a coffee filter and made a pot of "coffee" it couldn't have been worse.
I am so going to get him later this afternoon.....
DEFINITELY to be continued.......................................................................... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- get a free zbean email account for groovy coffee discounts from Bello Montana!
